If you want the "maple" taste you could add some maple extract. Seriously, I am sure it would be JUST as good with the cinnamon syrup. If you have a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods you could check to see if they have maple syrup that is not too expensive. Like I said, our Whole Foods sells it in bulk, out of these giant vats with spigots on them and you fill up the bottle yourself.

Also, we thought the apple crisp was best just with plain vanilla ice cream rather than the sauce. I have a really delicious Apple Brown Betty recipe that I will share soon, that is EVEN BETTER than this crisp!

Thanks so much for reading!

Oh, also, it struck me funny that you never made chili :)-- well, American chili is just a really tame version of chile con carne or any Mexican stew with tomato, beef, and chiles. You've been eating the "real" chili all your life, LOL!Karen Brown Letartehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17438094251522801081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1085009377864158071.post-61710343127642772562009-02-03T19:32:00.000-08:002009-02-03T19:32:00.000-08:00I've never made Chili before, I may give it a try....I've never made Chili before, I may give it a try.

The apple crisps look to die for (as in super good) kind of like a crustless pie. That I will make in the near future (it'll hurt to spend 20 bucks on maple syrup it's so expensive, usually in my house we use a syrup made from cheap unrefined solid cane sugar infused with cinnamon that we drizzle over fritters or cook fruits, winter squash, and sweet potateos in)Nathanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01705907653188301814noreply@blogger.com
